Mila A Balletine's Desperate Trails

Mila's newest release Desperate Trails is being released. A very good read and will be enjoyed by all.

Author: Mila A. Ballentine

Genre: Romance / Suspense / Mystery

Audience: 18 +

If the opportunity arose, Drew Tanner would probably trade places with just about anyone. He wasn’t a stranger to misery, but he had an unquenchable need for acceptance that spanned his entire childhood leading up to the present. Throughout that time, he saw how elusive and fickle the nature of love could be, and experienced unyielding misfortunes until a newfound friend made those hellish moments somehow bearable.
Despite his new friendship, things at home continue to deteriorate, making it difficult for him to cope with the situation, let alone breathe. But, an opportune moment arises out of his suffering that will potentially change the course of the life he’s known and he’ll have to decide if he wants to continue living this way or choose a new path, a decision that could change his life forever. Whatever he decides, Drew’s life is about to change, and there is no guarantee that his life will change for the better.

Thin Skin Soul Pinned: The Entire Story (Thin Skin Soul Pinned  and Unpinned)

Wonderfully written and a good on the edge of your seat book. It makes you wonder what you would do in the same situation.  Would a person chose to stay in the life that they had led or would they chose a different path and hope for a better life. For Drew Tanner it was the ultimate question and his life before was no bed of roses but what would happen if he chose a different life? Would it better or worse?
Mila has done a wonderful job of writing this book and this was my first one of hers to read and I thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait to read more of her wonderful novels. I kept turning the pages to find out what would happen and kept trying to guess which way Drew would go but could never predict the outcome.

The Callahan Brothers-Luke

Welcome to Brazos Bend, Texas where the Callahan brothers, nicknamed the Bad Boys of Brazos Bend,  like to get into trouble.  The brothers are now all grown up and have gone their separate ways but their father wants to them to come back and they won't fall for it.

Maddie Kincaid is trying to get a new start on life and put her past behind her with her famous rock star dad and her past boyfriends that were nothing but trouble. But it seems as trouble likes to take a back seat in her life and follow her everywhere. When she moves to Brazos Bend to start a new life and a new business it seems trouble has shown it's ugly face once again. She is working for a client who unfortunately lands in the middle of a illegal situation and Maddie is once again forced into a run for her life, since someone is after her and she has to get rid of the evidence.  One of her client's is Luke Callahan's dad but she doesn't realize it at first because she is told to head to Eternity Springs to look for someone else.

In the process they try to fight their feelings for each other and stay alive. He doesn't want Maddie to get hurt so he does his job and leaves it at that. But in the end love always wins.

This is a re-release of Emily's original title of Give him the Slip and it is worth the read the first time or re-reading again under the new title. I truly enjoyed Luke's story and can't wait to meet the other two bad boy Callahan's, Matt and Mark.

Everyone has their little secrets but for some they can be deadly. Amber is sent to stay with her sister, Rebecca for the summer because she had gotten hurt at a party due to being too drunk. Her parents feel that she is getting out of control and so they think maybe a summer with her sister and a forced meeting will help.

Amber fights the summer prison at every turn but when she goes to her first meeting she sees her old friend Bailey, from New York, so they talk and make it a little better for each other. Then she meets a young man named Ethan, who is part of the Big Brother/Big Sister's program and her sister's boyfriend, Jason is his big brother so she gets to know him. But he is carrying a big secret and she is not sure what to do when she finds out the truth.

She thought that while she was in Virginia she would find out what really happened to her best friend, Madison. Madison's parents had just chalked it up to her running away but she knew there was more to that. There were too many clues to suggest otherwise. In her investigations she learns secrets that might eventually hurt her but she continues on hoping to find the truth of what happened to Madison.

Wonderfully written and the story keeps a person hooked from beginning to end trying to find out the secrets and hoping that the truth of Madison's disappearance is cleared. I had to keep reading until the end to find out if I was right and I was shocked with what happens in the book. I can't wait for the next installment and see what occurs.
