What's the one thing you can't go without?

That's the question that is presented in Angelisa Stone's Book, Can't go Without. I just received a free copy of her book and it was pretty interesting. It tells the story of how a little lie can actually explode into something far more dangerous and hurtful to many people.

Leah and Tristan met three years earlier and had a one night stand but they grew apart because Leah felt betrayed by Tristan. She eventually felt guilty about what happened and makes amends with the family. It's a long road to forgiveness and self realization.

When I first met Tristan in the book my opinion was he is not nice and I wanted to hit him for the way he was acting but the further I got into the book my attitude changed and I started to like him. Leah did something very wrong but she realized her mistake and made it right. My favorite character in the whole book was Piper the younger sister to the whole family. She is great and loves to play match maker and I hope she gets her own story soon.

Book Trailer: Tease by Sophie Jordan

So sorry for the late release but was work today. Sophie Jordan has another book coming in the Ivy Chronicles. It's called Tease and from the first few chapters I have read, it's going to be a great tease to read. I loved her Foreplay and this one is sure to be just as good. I can't wait to read more about Emerson.

The Park of Sunset Dreams by Ava Miles

Ava has done it again. I love the whole community of Dare Valley and can't wait to visit again. This is the story of Matt and Jane. Matt is related to the Hale family and has come back to Dare Valley to settle down with his family and get away from the fast paced life of Denver. Jane is hiding a secret and decided to move to Dare Valley with her boss Rhett and her best friend Elizabeth, who also holds the same secret.

Jane is a dog walker for her boss Rhett, and loves to buy cute little outfits for Rhett's dog. She  is in the park when she meets Matt. He has a dog that he inherited from a previous client and isn't sure how to handle him but with Jane's help he figures it out. Jane and Matt fall for each other but Jane has a secret that might destroy Matt's plans.

Love this book so much that I finished it practically in one night. I love little old Hazel and how she tells Matt that she knows how to bury bodies. I laughed so hard at that one. It reminds me of my friends who are in the same mind frame of burying bodies if people make us upset. I also like how Matt dubs his volunteers The Easter Brigade because of their clothing.

Thank you Ava for writing another wonderful story and can't wait to read Terrance and Elizabeth's story which is set to come out this fall. I was so hoping that they had a story coming because there is definitely something there.

Nora Roberts Land by Ava Miles

I just finished the most wonderful novel entitled, Nora Roberts Land by Ava Miles. Meredith Hale has just recently gone through a divorce from Rick-the-Dick, who is now wanting to run for senate. She is an investigative journalist and is working for another paper when her family asks her to come back to help at the family newspaper in Dare Valley. She is hesitant at first but after an epiphany she decides to go back and write an article about finding true love again via Nora Roberts style. I loved the book and now I want to go back and read every Nora Roberts book I can get my hands on to see what the hub bub is all about the heroes that Meredith tries to find in Dare Valley.

While she is there she meets Tanner McBride, who in fact is working for her ex because of some black mail that he has on his brother. Tanner is torn between doing what is right and saving his brother so he is brought to Dare Valley to meet Meredith and try to ruin her and stop the story. But true love prevails as it should.

Nora Roberts Land is the first of the small town Dare Valley Series, the next is French Roast which is the story of Meredith's sister, Julie and her childhood friend Brian. Can't wait to see the sparks fly in that one.

The books in the Dare Valley series are as follows and I am going to start reading them all.

The Small Town Dare Valley series:
Book 1: NORA ROBERTS LAND (Meredith & Tanner)
Book 2: FRENCH ROAST (Jill & Brian)
Book 3: THE GRAND OPENING (Peggy & Mac)
Book 4: THE HOLIDAY SERENADE (Abbie & Rhett)
Book 5: THE TOWN SQUARE (Arthur & Harriet)
Book 6: THE PARK OF SUNSET DREAMS (Jane & Matt) ~ coming Spring 2014

My Soul to Keep by VJ Prucha

My Soul to Keep by VJ Prucha is the story of Carolina Stronghill, aka Danielle Clearwater, who had gotten into trouble with the law due to an ex and so she was placed into the witness protection program. She moves to Albuquerque to start a new life and meets two men, one of them is meant to be with her and the other wants to hurt her. Gabriel is the classic bad boy next door and she is afraid to like him because he reminds her of her past. Then there is the Reverend Seth who is the classic good boy but there is something there that she is not sure of. She has to choose between the two of them and go with the decision she has made.

VJ is a terrific author and when she wrote of her hometown it brought back memories of visiting up there and going up into the hills. Watching the city lights glisten in the night sky. I could feel Danny's trepidation as she tried to protect herself from her enemies and try to start a new life. To give up all that you know and start all over again is hard. Trying to find the right people to help even harder.

It is a page turning on the edge of your seat thriller and keeps you guessing who the killer is and I for one wasn't sure who the bad guy was until the end. I can't wait until she continues with the next book.

Forgive Us Our Trespasses by M.L. Steinbrunn

Forgive Us Our Trespasses by M.L. Steinbrunn is the story of a young woman who loses her father at a very early age and goes through life wondering if she will ever see justice for the man who killed him. She goes on to college and meets some wonderful friends and the one who she thinks is the love of her life but he carries a secret that could change their lives forever. Vivian vows never to fall in love and get hurt but she goes on and has a good life until that one fateful day when everything changes. One of my favorite lines in the book was, "...a hobbit wearing shoes." When she wrote this line all I could think was this is me. Thanks for the laugh.

M.L. did a wonderful job on this book and it is written from the view point of the two main characters and each chapter is their view of what is going on. I started this book and could not stop. As I was reading I just wanted to know if Brooks and Vivian would stay together or be torn apart and would she finally meet the man who killed her father and have closure. I was hoping that all would end well for the characters and I did start to cry in some parts of the book when it got rough but Vivian and Brooks are strong people and they overcome a lot of obstacles in their path.

I can't wait for Jen's story which is titled, Lead Him Not into Temptation, which will be released August 2014.
